Todd Oishi has fished the rivers and stillwaters of over a dozen countries and six Canadian Provinces for trout, salmon, char, whitefish, grayling and several other species of fish. As a competitive fly fisher and a member of the Canadian National Fly Fishing Team, he has traveled around the globe to attend numerous national and international competitions, and various fly fishing clinics and masterclasses. In 2006 Todd flew to the Czech Republic to attend the Czech Nymphing Masterclass, and in 2007 he traveled to the River San in southeastern Poland to study the Polish Nymphing technique. He has also made several trips to England, Scotland and Wales, in order to study and receive coaching from some of their finest stillwater and reservoir anglers.
He has designed a series of fly fishing courses based on the coaching that he has received during his travels and from his personal observations and experiences while fly fishing abroad and on his homewaters in British Columbia. Through his courses, he reveals some of the strategies, techniques and tactics that have helped to make him one of Canada’s highest-ranked competitive fly fishermen.
