Wild sea-run cutthroat trout of the Fraser River's

waves of salmon fry during their spring-time

Trophy-sized rainbow trout cruise the shallow,

clear shoals of the Interior lakes in search of

their abundant aquatic insect life --

Rainbows rise quite willingly throughout the spring and
summer months to take chironimids, mayflies and
|
caddis as they emerge through the water's surface --

The rivers of mid to late summer-time boil as hoppers and
stoneflies are aggressively taken by large trout,
|
which eagerly rise to the occasion --
|
The hard-fighting rainbow trout of the Kamloop's Region
cruise the lake's shoals in the fall, gorging on shrimp, leeches
and boatman as the hatches are now almost non-existent --

The five species of Pacific salmon, which return to the river
systems of the Fraser Valley during autumn and well into the
winter months will test the fly fishers and their equipment --
|
Hefty rainbow and cutthroat trout lie in the rivers behind the
salmon, feasting upon the salmon's eggs as they drift past --
|
Powerful winter steelhead hold in the tail-outs and
|
pocket-waters of the icy rivers and can be coaxed
|
into taking a well presented fly --
|
|
These are just a few of the many fly fishing opportunities
that we enjoy in South-Western British Columbia and
ultimately makes fly fishing in our corner of the province --
